This park is located in the northern part of East Baton Rouge Parish. It is one of BREC’s largest parks, located on Highway 19 at New Rafe Meyer Road, near the city of Baker. The park can be accessed from I-110 by getting off at the Hwy 19 ext towards baker and taking it north several miles turning right into the park entrance.

Greenwood Community Park is located in Baker, just north of Baton Rouge. Most of the birding at this developed site occurs along a gravel walking trail around Greenwood Lake.

Greenwood Park may well be one of the best places to find Rusty Blackbird (November-March) in southeastern Louisiana. The species is among 144 bird species to have been recorded here.

The lake also hosts Wood Duck and Hooded Merganser year round, with other waterfowl such as Blue-winged Teal, Mallard, and Ring-necked Duck joining in during the fall and winter. Pied-billed Grebe is another regular species in the fall, winter, and spring. Horned Grebe has been recorded at the lake as well. Least, Spotted, and Solitary Sandpipers and Wilson's Snipe are regularly recorded along the lake shore. Anhinga, Double-crested and Neotropic Cormorants, and Ring-billed Gull make annual appearances here.

Commonly recorded woodland species include Red-headed Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Yellow-throated Vireo, Gray Catbird, and Eastern Bluebird, along with Chipping, White-throated, and Swamp Sparrows (especially in winter along woodland edges), and twenty species of seasonal warblers.

The Baton Rouge Zoo and the Dumas and J.S. Clark Golf Courses are located here. The park also has a cafe and conference center overlooking Greenwood Lake. Seasonal kayak and canoe rentals are available. There are walking paths and a short nature trail that circles the lake. A disc golf course and dog park are also included at the handicapped-accessible site. Additional recreational opportunities include biking, cultural activities, and fishing.
